Honoring 243 years of rich Marine Corps history, the annual birthday ball is a time for all Marines to reflect and to celebrate. This event is enveloped with many traditions such as the cake cutting, oldest and youngest Marine present, the reading of the current Commandant’s message and a reading from the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps Lieutenant General John A. Lejeune.
This coin is part of an annual series minted since 2002 by a Marine veteran own company, Coins For Anything, Inc. Each year features a Marine Corps tradition, unit or aspect of the Marine corps which all Marines can relate to. This year’s coin honors the Marines that have gone before us and can only attend the birthday ball in spirit. The Fallen Comrade table is often seen at not only the birthday ball but also at other formal military events such as mess nights. The table has the same setting as the guest and serves as a reminder to of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
This coin is 1.75 inches in diameter, minted out of solid brass and has an antiqued finish.
