Merchant Marines Geocoin

The Merchant Marines have been around since the 15th Century and have assisted in wartime since 1775. However, until 1988 when President Regan signed a bill granting them veteran status, the Merchant Marines were considered only civilians with no veteran military benefits. Since the Merchant Marine aids in our National Defense we feel it is only appropriate we include them in our Military Series of Geocoins.
